1.               Students learn the basic elements of writing a good film review.

2.               Students understand and can identify the difference between facts and opinions in the film reviews.

 Teaching Procedures:

1.               Teacher asks students to read a sample of the film review “Return of a favourite hero” (source from Longman Elect JS2A p.27)

2.               After reading the sample, students are in pairs and given some paper cards. These cards contain the basic elements necessary for writing the film review. Ask students to match the paragraphs of the sample with the basic elements and check answers with them afterwards.

3.               Input the concepts of facts and opinions by asking students to give definitions for the vocabulary. Then, ask students to identify the sentences with facts and opinions by giving a list of examples.

4.               Brief students about the writing task as homework. Students need to recommend some good websites of film reviews on the weblog. They also have to read at least 2 pieces of the film reviews provided by their classmates.

5.               Then, students choose one of their favorite films and write a film review on the teacher’s weblog after reading the samples browsed on the Internet.

 What are the functions of the blog in the teaching plan?

1.               To provide a sharing platform for students in reading the recommended websites of film reviews.

2.               To encourage peer sharing on ideas towards some films

3.               To write a film review using in blog format.
